Organisation
- Responsible for the engine room and the technical maintenance of the assigned ship.
- Reports to Captain / 2nd Captain

Requirements
- Primary and / or Secondary school
- Diploma Engineering
- Valid certification for the position
- In good command of the German and English language
- French language preferred but not required
- Good health and presentation
- Enthusiastic and flexible
- Willing to be away from home for a longer period of time
- Pro-active and willing to work hard
- Willing to wear a uniform / company clothing
- Preferably in possession of a First Aid certificate

Characteristics
The position is mainly operational, requires flexibility and ability to work under pressure, accuracy and professional skills.

Job description
The engineer is responsible for the engine room and the technical repairs on board of the ship. Also the repairs to the cabins and other hotel repairs are part of the responsibility.

The engineer provides engine reports and potable water reports. He discusses the maintenance schedules and intervals.

The engineer also participates in the watch schedule, including night watches.
